Mexico Operations Savanna
Energy Services has two heavy double drilling rigs operating in the Chicontepec region in central eastern Mexico. The rigs are under contract with a large U.S. based multi-service provider. The contract commenced in August of 2009 and is for 100 percent utilization for 18 months, with an extension option.
Savanna is extremely pleased to be commencing Chicontepec operations, as the project marks the first expansion of Savanna's drilling operations beyond Canada and the United States as part of our strategy to expand our international presence moving forward.
The depth capabilities of the two high-spec heavy doubles on location in Mexico range from 3600 to 4000 m and these rigs include such features as pad-moving systems, automated pipe handling, and compatibility with the most advanced horizontal drilling tools.
