| Community InvolvementMandate
Savanna’s mandate, from day one, has been to give back to the communities in which we live and work through volunteerism, donations, employment, and partnerships among other initiatives. Whether through our annual United Way campaign; Christmas donations to the Veteran’s Food Banks; supporting the Adopt a Family program; providing customized training programs for our Aboriginal partners or newly arrived immigrants; or our mandate to employee local workers in all our satellite offices, Savanna tries to make a difference in the lives of those in our communities. Additionally, Savanna’s local employment mandate involves working with local community members in new regions to attract local talent. In each of the communities in which we operate, place a strong priority on local individuals whenever possible and are diligent in setting up roots as productive members of the community from day one. In recognition of our 10 year anniversary Savanna will be rolling out a new charity initiative including some exciting options to recognize employees as important contributors to Savanna’s core value of commitment to our communities, and as a reflection of our values of caring for, developing, and empowering people, we’ll be introducing a Savanna scholarship for employees with children attending their first year of post secondary training at a technical college, university or trade school. Donation GuidelinesEach year, Savanna management sets a budget for Corporate donations. Determining which organizations receive our support is based upon whether or not they fit into the following areas of focus:
The company also tends to support organizations which have low administrative costs associated with their fundraising. Submitting a funding request to SavannaIf your organization or project falls within Savanna's guidelines, please click here to complete an on-line donation request form. Due to the large number of requests that we receive daily, we are unable to confirm receipt of individual requests or provide status updates by telephone. Community ServiceAs well as the commitment to provide monetary donations to support the communities in which we live, Savanna also encourages our employees to volunteer their time for community service activities (Habitat for Humanity, United Way, etc.). In order to promote this, Savanna organizes opportunities for team-building/volunteer events for employees to participate in. Savanna is also a member of Canadian Blood Services Partner's for Life Program, which encourages employees to donate blood. Additionally, Savanna is a Corporate Sponsor and participant of Calgary Corporate Challenge, which is a volunteer-driven, Olympic-style event that promotes team building, boosts employee morale and company pride, while at the same time raises funds for local charities. |
